The Power and Humility of Spiritual Authority
Jul 13, 2025 • Fr Moses Gad
Join Fr Moses as he contemplates on the authority given to us over the temptations of the enemy.
When the seventy disciples returned rejoicing, they marveled, saying:
“Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name!” (Luke 10:17)
And Christ answered them, saying:
“Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy…” (Luke 10:19)
Through His name, we have received authority to overcome the temptations and torments of the evil one. The devil does not have dominion over us, for Christ has crushed the head of the serpent and made us sharers in His victory.
The Lord adds immediately after:
“Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven.” (Luke 10:20)
Tune in!
