When Friends Bring You to Jesus

“In today’s readings, we see two powerful pictures of what it means to carry Christ’s presence to others. St. Paul reminds us that we are the ‘fragrance of Christ’—that everywhere we go, the Spirit within us spreads His life and love. Our faith isn’t meant to be sealed away; it’s meant to touch others, to bring light, comfort, and healing. In the Gospel, four friends do exactly that. They carry their paralyzed friend to Jesus, tearing open a roof just to bring him into the Lord’s presence. Their faith released God’s power and changed a life forever. When we connect these two messages, we realize that to ‘bring someone to Jesus’ doesn’t always mean physically carrying them—it means living as the fragrance of Christ, letting His Spirit speak through our words, our love, and our actions. Through us, others can encounter His forgiveness, His healing, and His life-giving Spirit.
