When Jesus said, “Love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you,” He wasn’t giving us an impossible command—He was revealing the very heart of God. He was inviting us to share in the kind of love that forgave from the cross, that interceded for persecutors, that broke the cycle of hatred with mercy. This kind of love doesn’t come from ourselves—it comes from a heart that no longer seeks to be served but to serve, a heart that is detached from earthly pride and filled instead with the peace and power of heaven.
