The Guest of a Sinner

Sep 28, 2025    Fr Matthias Shehad
This sermon presents the biblical story of Zacchaeus, a chief tax collector who repented after meeting Jesus, and explores how Christians should respond when wronged by others. Zacchaeus had wronged many by stealing and falsely accusing them, yet upon repentance, Jesus declared salvation had come to his house.
Further examine the dilemma of victims of wrongdoing by presenting St. Paul’s teaching from 1st Corinthians 6:7, which encourages believers to sometimes accept wrongdoing rather than pursue legal battles, emphasizing a transformed heart and peace over conflict, willingness to accept wrong for something greater than us. There are many situations that believers face, such as persecution, defamation, insults, and physical harm, insisting that accepting wrong does not mean tolerating ongoing abuse.
Listen to this sermon to learn for biblical guidance on handling such situations…
